This Thursday, December 5, 2013, we’re hosting an Open House Party at our office to support Project T.O.Y. 2013, a holiday program run by the Tri-Community and Youth Agency (Tri-CYA) and the Family Service League of Long Island. This very special Toy Drive gives parents who are struggling financially the opportunity to choose two new unwrapped gifts for each of their children (up to age 13). Parents are invited to select gifts at no cost to them and given the pleasure of presenting gifts to their children.

Nassau County Supreme Court Justice Randy Sue Marber granted a $4.9 million award to a Nassau County nurse, Marie Sweeney, for the damages she suffered as a result of a vicious and violent attack upon her by a patient. The court found the defendant, Donte Oakes, liable for his assault on Nurse Sweeney while working as a nurse in the psychiatric ward at Franklin General Hospital. The case – Marie Sweeney v Donte Oakes – (Index number 601010/2011) had been filed on Ms. Sweeney’s behalf by the Schlitt Law Firm.

The Schlitt Law Firm is sponsoring the Walking Warriors Teams in the Huntington High School Relay for Life on Friday, May 17, 2013.The Walking Warrior Teams were formed by the special needs classes at Huntington High School. The Relay for Life is a fundraising event to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
